Ghostwriting for body–mind–spirit books meant to serve others

A fully guided book trajectory where you speak and the book gets written, without writing taking over your life.

Your book written through listening.

My name is Youri Hermes. In this work, the responsibility for writing sits with me. I work from the same principles I’ve explored in my books, where body, mind, and spirit meet work and livelihood.

Ghostwriting allows you to show up for one-hour weekly conversations and speak from where you are. Through space and questioning, the style, voice, and direction of the book take form. I shape, write, refine, and prepare the book for publication. My way of working is the basis of what I call the Unwriting Method™. I’ve written about this approach in my business book The Art of Unwriting.

Using this method, I’ve published multiple books, and I’ve guided others through published books, including multi-book ghostwriting trajectories. Most books never make it to the page because no one is holding them steadily. And a book shaped through human listening feels fundamentally different from one assembled robotically.

What does ghostwriting solve?

No Writing Time

The book matters, but it keeps slipping behind work, life, and responsibility. Ghostwriting gives it a steady place to move forward, without asking you to make time you don’t have.

Letting It Move

There’s something you’ve lived or seen that doesn’t want to stay private. This work helps it take form so it can meet and move others, not just live inside you.

Doing It Properly

You don’t want a rushed, thin, or amateur result. Through careful shaping and human attention to language, the book gains clarity and weight, without losing what matters.

Finding Clear Form

The book doesn’t need forcing or figuring out. It needs human listening. This process gives form to what already exists, without pushing it into the wrong structure.

When this way of working makes sense.

If your book has been waiting because time never opens up, ghostwriting allows it to move forward anyway. One hour per week in conversation is enough for what you’ve lived to start serving others.

Where your work remains human.

We live in a time where books are produced faster than they are lived. Many are assembled quickly with AI, and that speed is instantly recognisable on the page, offering only superficial support to both author and reader. This work operates entirely differently.

It is a ghostwriting collaboration in which your ideas take form through live conversation, sustained questioning, and thoughtful writing. The book develops through attention, listening, and shaping over time. You show up an hour a week. I ask, structure, write, and carry the book through to completion.

AI tools are used where they genuinely support clarity or precision. They do not lead the work. The thinking, discernment, structure, and voice remain human throughout. The result is a book that carries coherence and presence, and that can be read with attention because it was written with it.

The four phases of the trajectory in a nutshell.

Youri takes full care of the book (shaping, structuring, refining, formatting, publishing). You speak and stay close to the heart of it. Everything else is on him. The full length book ghostwriting trajectory takes 6 months, the book trilogy 1 year. They contain 3 gatherings each month.

We begin with what already exists. This can range from extensive notes, posts, talks, essays, or previous drafts to a small number of fragments or intuitions. Everything relevant is brought together and carefully listened to.

Patterns begin to surface: recurring themes, tensions, questions, and lines of thought. This material becomes the foundation from which the form and direction of the book are decided.

Based on the material gathered in the first phase, we follow what is most alive. That might be a chapter in the middle, a closing line before an opening, or a fragment that suddenly brings coherence to the whole book.

Writing in this nonlinear way keeps the work spontaneous, precise and alive, and prevents unnecessary accumulation. Direction emerges through attention, not through forcing a rather predictable and boring path.

Once the manuscript has reached its full shape, attention turns to refinement. Youri edits and polishes the text, strengthening coherence, rhythm, and flow across the whole book. The manuscript is then prepared carefully for publication in both print and digital form. The cover is designed as an extension of the work. Any additional editing rounds or further professionalized materials fall outside the core trajectory and are priced separately.

Publishing isn’t an afterthought. We plan the release thoughtfully: when the book enters the world, how it is spoken about, what materials are needed, and how it is announced without forcing visibility.

Although this is the final phase, it is already threaded through the process from the start. Release moments do not come as a surprise.

This phase runs alongside the entire trajectory. Although it is named last, it does not come at the end. If you choose the optional author presence track (add-on), we work with visibility from the very beginning through monthly recorded conversations focused on the book as it is coming into being. These conversations explore how the book is spoken about while it is still being written, how it begins to move in the world, and how you speak from it over time.

This work stays outside the manuscript itself and develops in parallel with all other phases. The recordings are edited into high-quality, engaging clips, while the writing process remains intact. The author presence track is optional and priced separately from the core ghostwriting trajectory.

Additional author presence track.

This optional track runs alongside the writing process and follows the same monthly rhythm. Through monthly recorded conversations, we work with how the book starts to be spoken into the world as it unfolds. In these dedicated sessions, we stay with author presence and visibility, rather than working on the manuscript itself.

Frequently heard objections.

The ideas, experiences, and voice are yours. I don’t invent content or replace you, nor does AI. I listen, ask, shape, and write so the book can come into form without you having to carry the time-consuming writing process itself. You remain the author. I take responsibility for the writing.

Yes. The book is written through your language, rhythms, and way of seeing. My role is to listen closely enough that the written voice feels recognisable to you. If it doesn’t sound like you, the work isn’t finished.

That’s often exactly why ghostwriting helps. You don’t need to have everything clear upfront. Through sustained conversation, questioning, and listening, the language and structure emerge gradually, without flattening what doesn’t want to be simplified.

People who work with me usually can write. The issue is rarely ability. It’s time, distance, and the weight of writing something that matters. This collaboration exists so the book doesn’t stay stuck at the level of intention.

This is a significant investment. It reflects the time, care, and responsibility involved in shaping, writing, refining, and publishing a book over months. It’s meant for people who want the book fully carried to completion, rather than holding it indefinitely themselves.

AI can assemble text. It cannot listen, sense direction, or hold a book over time. In this work, AI is used only where it supports clarity or precision. The thinking, structure, and voice remain human throughout.

That’s normal. Most people don’t arrive with a clear scope. During the application call, we listen together to what you’re carrying and what kind of container supports it best. Nothing needs to be decided beforehand.

Practical questions.

This is a trajectory that asks for serious time, attention, and headspace on my side. Unlike my regular mentoring, where writers are supported in writing their own book, this path is far more immersive. The time commitment rests almost entirely with me. That’s why I only take on up a limited amount of writers for ghostwriting at a time.

You bring:

  • Presence in a near to weekly 1-hour conversation (3 times a month)
  • The ideas, the stories, and the voice during our sessions
  • Optional: Any voice notes and reflections in between sessions

I take care of:

  • Making your thinking process accessible and readable, without simplifying it
  • Collecting what you already have, bringing it all smartly together
  • Writing anything we discuss which seems to be relevant
  • Finding a structure that reveals itself through our conversations
  • Editing while holding the narrative together
  • Clarifying, polishing, and preparing it for publication
  • Guiding you step-by-step to publish your book

The rhythm of this trajectory keeps the book alive, without demanding your constant attention. Your part is to speak, reflect (just enough to register what’s being brought together), and show up when it fits your weekly schedule. My part is to fully take care of the book. The result is a book that’s yours, yet doesn’t require you to write it yourself.

You don’t need to know this upfront. Some books want a short, clear form. Others need depth, or time to unfold as a body of work. In the application call, we’ll explore what you’re carrying and what kind of container potentially supports it best.

  • Three sessions per month, duration depending on your choice
  • Each call is transcribed, giving me material to draw from as the writing takes shape
  • Message and voice note exchange in between to keep it alive
  • Ongoing structure formation and editing throughout with AI-supported refinement (purely for grammar and tone alignment)
  • Final manuscript (ready for both print and digital) prepared and formatted for global publication
  • Published work, globally available, in English

I use the Unwriting Method which I’ve developed and applied to let many books come into being.

This method contains six principles that help the book free itself most naturally and authentically. They came into view through publishing various books of my own and guiding others through the same unfolding. Each one reveals what’s already alive and ready to take form.

1. Existing rhythm

I listen for what’s already been moving through you and begin shaping from there.

2. Living drafts

I stay in touch with what’s been said, written, or loosely formed, so we can keep checking what might already be shareable, especially if you’re working with the visibility add-on.

3. Found patterns

I look for the structure hidden in the scattered. Threads emerge on their own once the right pieces are placed side by side.

4. Reverse Writing

I often write out of order. A line from our latest call might become the opening to a chapter we haven’t discovered yet. I let the book decide what belongs where.

5. Absent Writer

I write from a place where your voice moves without effort, when nothing’s in the way.

6. Timely Release

After six months, the book is ready. There’s simply nothing left to hold.

I’ve written and guided the writing process of a variety of books, including those entirely outside of my field of expertise. I don’t have to bring the expertise. My role is to get this out of you, so that it’s surfacing in a way that’s as close as possible to your voice and vision.

Your book could be about anything:

  • A soulful approach to business

  • A self-help guide that doesn’t fix people

  • A philosophical dive into the everyday

  • A memoir of invisible turning points

  • A fresh take on healing or health

  • A spiritual inquiry without dogma

  • Or even something entirely unclassifiable

To me, what matters is not what your book is about, but where it’s written from.

As part of the optional author presence track (add-on), we work with a monthly recorded interview focused on the book as it is coming into being.

Once a month, we have a dedicated conversation around the book: its themes, questions, direction, and what is currently alive in the writing. I prepare the structure and line of inquiry in advance; you enter the conversation spontaneously. There is no need to perform or prepare content.

These sessions are recorded using high-quality video and audio tools. From each recording, I select and edit engaging fragments that can be shared while the book is being written. I take care of the full process: editing, improving visual and audio quality, adding captions, and shaping the clips so they are clear, coherent, and engaging.

This allows the work to be shared gradually, in close connection to the book itself, rather than remaining private until everything is finished. The focus is not on running channels or campaigns, but on letting the book be seen through conversation as it unfolds.

All visibility work happens outside the manuscript and runs in parallel with the writing process. This add-on is optional and priced separately from the core ghostwriting trajectory.

You can pay in full or in quarterly (and even monthly) installments, with the first installment due before the program begins.

  • EU Consumers: The price of the training is subject to an additional 21% VAT.
  • EU Businesses: If you provide a valid VAT number, the reverse charge mechanism applies, meaning no VAT is charged. This mechanism shifts the responsibility of accounting for VAT to the buyer, simplifying cross-border trade within the EU and avoiding the need for the seller to register for VAT in the buyer’s country.
  • Non-EU Customers: The price of the training is VAT exempt as sales to customers outside the EU are not subject to EU VAT rules.

In book mentoring, I help writers learn how to write their book. That path requires a serious time commitment: learning the craft, developing the skill, and doing the writing itself.

In ghostwriting, both the learning phase and the act of writing are skipped entirely by you. The principles I teach are already embodied in how I work and in the books I’ve written.

Without detours, I listen directly for structure before it becomes obvious, for patterns before they are named, for lines that arrive out of order — and above all, for what the book already knows.

This is the heart of what I call The Unwriting Method™: a way of working I also pass on to others through apprenticeship.
